Hip-Hop Island

So after numerous discussions and arguments against newbie rapper Drake's status in Hip-Hop, it turns out the youngin' might actually have some game. Not fully impressed, but after a few spins of his mixtape collaboration with Weezy, it seems the boy isn't afraid to just let loose on the mic. Half the time, Drizzy just makes no sense when he clearly thought too hard about making a snazzy line, and the rest of the time, he's so off the top it's shocking. Maybe it's just awkward thinking of Jimmy from Degrassi dropping N-bombs left and right and rapping about his bitches and sexual swagger. Then again, all that time in the wheelchair must have built up a lot of repressed teenage angst - Drizzy just needed to get it out. It does seem like Drake wants to throw verbal punches ASAP as he breaks into the game -- not sure if that's the smartest move... But, Aubrey's all grown up and his alter ego is doing his thing. On the come-up? Some say yes, others think he's just a blip on the radar. Just because Weezy co-signed doesn't mean Drake is rising right to the top.
