America sure does love a comeback....just as much as we love watching the meltdown that precursors said comeback. Whitney Houston, raspy voice and all, seems pretty composed these days. Although she isn't the diva who once blessed the stage and battled Mariah on the Billboard charts, Whitney is taking it one step at a time getting her life back in order. This time around there's no Bobby Brown watching and influencing her every move; instead, there's record executives and managers playing babysitter and media buffers. While the transition from crackhead to marketable artist isn't going to be easy, the world is waiting for every second of glory Miss Houston produces. Oprah kicks off her new season with Whitney on Sept. 14th admitting that before the interview she prayed expecting the worst from Whitney. Seven years ago, Whitney's interview with Diane Sawyer was a train wreck and as she rambles on about drugs saying, "crack is wack," you see in the shadows Bobby is lurking around waiting for his woman to say something wrong. Their marriage is eerily similar to Tina and Ike Turner, but now that Whitney's rid of Bobby, are all her problems gone? Probably not, but she is on her way back into the good light.
